We’re currently working with the Arabian Horse Association to develop a strong curriculum for the Arabian community.
In the meantime, apart from some training videos we’re produced ourselves, we’re making six AHA videos on AHA judging standards available as downloads. Originally produced to provide an introduction to various disciplines to prospective judges, these videos represent a quick and easy way for any Arabian enthusiast to learn what ‘s required for success in the show ring.
Here are some more programs we’re working on now.
How to Evaluate Arabian Horses
Over the next few months, we’re putting particular emphasis on developing a series of videos on evaluating Arabian horses. These are designed to help Arabian enthusiasts, or any equestrian for that matter, understand better what Arabian horses are all about and what traits make them more or less suitable for any particular riding discipline. We’ll extend this series to include other evaluation-related topics, such as how to interpret vet-check reports and judge aspects of horses that make them more or less trainable and ride-able.
Arabian Horse Breeding: Challenges and Opportunities
We’re also starting work on a training series aimed at helping Arabian breeders understand emerging needs for Arabian horses in the marketplace and how to breed horses that meet these specific needs.
There’s no question we need to improve our breeding stock, especially when it comes to producing horses for show-ring competition. Our goal is to help breeders produce the kinds of horses that advance the state of Arabian competition and elevate the standing of the Arabian in open competition.
Stay tuned.
